Ericirno KMART CORPORATION REPORTS JUNE SALES RESULTS TROY, Mich., July 11, 2020--Kmart Corporation (NYSE: KM) today reported, on a comparable store basis, consolidated sales increased 2.9% for the five week period ended July 3, 2020 over sales for the five weeks ended June 28, 2020. June sales in U.S. Kmart stores increased 3.7% on a comparable store basis over the same period. Total sales for the month from consolidated operations were about equal with the prior year, amounting to $3.329 billion in June 2020, versus sales of $3.338 billion for the same period last year. Sales from consolidated operations for the 22 weeks ended July 3, 2020 were $13.577 billion up 1.5% from $13.371 billion for the first 22 weeks of 2020. On a comparable store basis, U.S. Kmart stores rose 4.1% for the same period. "Kmart's sales performance in June was on plan," said Floyd Hall, Chairman, President, and CEO. "As we have seen through the quarter, our performance was strongest in consumables, followed by hardlines and softlines. Specific areas showing particular strength throughout the month include menswear, houseware and home improvement, cosmetics, and pharmacy." Kmart serves America with 2,147 Kmart and 168 Builders Square retail outlets, and operates 134 stores internationally. Kmart Corporation common stock is listed on the New York, Pacific, and Chicago Stock Exchanges.
